The Best Gifts for Working Moms

Need a gift idea for the working mother in your life?   Check out these gifts guaranteed to make her smile.

Babysitting

Seriously.  Ask any working mother what she wants most and 99% of the time she will say time to herself. Working moms simply never have time to do nothing. I can’t tell you the last time I sat on my couch and binged on Netflix. Pure bliss.  So, offer to take the kids off her hands for a day or two. Not only does this cost nothing but she will become eternally grateful.  Win-win.

Weekly/Monthly Planner

I am a planner addict. I feel that writing down my priorities and schedule brings me a sense of control and accomplishment.  I strongly believe that everyone should use planners and the prettier the better!  I love Day Designer planners. I have used them for several years now and I love them more and more.  Planners also provide a great way to document your life and get your thoughts and feelings on paper.   There are so many cool planner accessories available now which makes a planner a great creative outlet as well.

Fire HD 10 Tablet with Alexa

I love curling up on my couch and reading a good book or surfing on my tablet.  Any mindless activity is amazing at the end of a busy workday.  I love the Fire tablet because it is affordable and super functional. I am Amazon girl to the core and I love that is is all synced to my Amazon account. Score a great deal on this on Black Friday!

All the Coffee

Yes, I’m about at basic as they come. I love all things coffee. Gift me with a Starbucks gift card and I will love you forever.  Not only does coffee keep me alive and somewhat sane, but it is also one of the only luxuries I have in my life at the moment.  Between pressing work deadlines and screaming toddlers, I don’t have much “me time”. However, one of the best times of the week is on Saturday mornings when I head out, grab my iced coffee,  and cruise the aisles of target sans kids. All moms deserve this. She will think of you everytime she gets that sweet taste of luxury.

YETI Rambler Vacuum Insulated Tumbler

Moms outside of a Starbucks environment seldom enjoy a warm cup of coffee. I start my day with a warm cup of heavenly goodness then all hell breaks loose the moment my kids wake up.   Sounds like “Mommy hold me!”, “Mommy, I want popcorn!”, “Mommy, wipe my butt please!”,  fill my once quiet home.  I swear my kids have a sensor for when I sit on the couch to enjoy my coffee and watch the news.  IT NEVER HAPPENS.   That is why every mama needs a YETI Rambler cup. They keep your beverages hot (or cold) for hours.

Amazon Echo

I am obsessed with my Echo and Alexa.   I’m pretty certain that Alexa is going to run the world soon (or at least my household). The capabilities are endless for what this little machine can do for a working mom.  There are hundreds of uses for the Echo and Alexa technology.  She can play your favorite music, provide you with news and weather updates, serve as alarms and reminders, manage your shopping list, and even control your lights and appliances (with connected Smart devices). This Echo (or any Alexa enabled device) is the perfect gift for working moms.  Anything to make her life a tad easier.

LifeAround2Angels Bath Bombs Gift Set

Self-care is super important. Self-care is also one of the first things that we put on the back burner as working moms. We are just so busy that we feel we don’t have the time to treat ourselves.  If you have a working mom in your life, you need to force her hand to take care of herself a little better. Otherwise,  she never will.  These little bath bombs are amazing and a great way to do just that. Slide into the tub with one of these and watch your stress soak away.  They smell divine and will leave your skin feeling silky and smooth.  There are 12 different bombs that provide a different experience ranging from “Fun on the Beach” to “Victorian Rose”.    Pair this set with a bottle of wine and you have the perfect gift for a working mom!

Cozy Heated Poncho

I  don’t know any mother that wouldn’t love to cozy up in this heated poncho blanket.  Now pair this up with a good book and kid-free house and you have one happy woman.  This is so soft and luxurious and perfect for cold winter nights.

House Cleaning from Amazon Home Services

What is the hands-down best gift that you can get for a working mom?  A housecleaner.   Best. Gift. Ever. If fact, if I opened this up on Christmas morning, I would be brought to tears.   The very last thing that I want to do when I get home from work is scrub toilets. I want to play with my kids, talk to my husband, and just sit on my butt (I know, I’m funny and delusional).  Amazon makes it super easy to gift housecleaning services with their Home Services program.  You can do a one-time cleaning or a couple sessions, whatever you would like. This will be a gift that will not be soon forgotten, promise!

Let’s talk employee engagement... What a lot Let’s talk employee engagement... What a lot of leaders and business owners don’t realize is employee engagement is the #1 factor in business success. You can have the best product, in the best market, but if you don’t have engaged and committed employees, you can only go so far. Just think of the most successful companies- sure, they may have an awesome product or value-prop. But what likely sets them apart is a group of dedicated employees that are committed to the work and bringing that vision to life. For example- let’s look at Disney. Disney world is a theme park. There are plenty of theme parks. But who is behind the scene creating that Disney magic? Engaged employees actively seeking out opportunities to delight and wow their guests. When you are thinking about how to grow your business- first assess your own and your team’s engagement. Do you have a vision and mission that is easy to understand and follow? Do you make it easy for employees to bring this vision to life? Do you listen and empathize with them? Starting with those questions will ensure that you have the most powerful tool in good working order, which will multiply your success. What is a time that you have been engaged at work? Do you feel that it improved your performance and ultimately the success of your company?
Just think about it- every single failure you have Just think about it- every single failure you have experienced made you wiser. Failure makes you more resilient, stronger, more resourceful. What has been the biggest lesson you have learned from failure?
Learning this more each year! Learning this more each year!
I always try to remind myself of this in the darke I always try to remind myself of this in the darkest of times.
Sometimes you just have to dig your heels in and g Sometimes you just have to dig your heels in and get dirty. However, when you struggle the reward is that much sweeter. ..Tell us a time that you really struggled for something. What was the reward?
